Overseen by BBC Worldwide Board member, Marcus Arthur, the UK and ANZ territory looks to grow the BBC brand, drive future business opportunities and develop new revenue streams in these major markets.

The UK business is also responsible for the consumer products business in the region, which extends UK audiences enjoyment of the BBC programmes and brands they love, through digital products such as downloads, websites, and apps and physical products including DVDs, magazines, books and toys.

Similarly, our Live Entertainment business is managed by the UK team and offers audiences at home and abroad the chance to watch some of their favourite brands transformed into a live event - from a UK tour of Strictly Come Dancing to a global Walking with Dinosaurs live arena show.

The UK Publishing business oversees 20 licensed magazines that have a BBC genre or programme connection and ensures that their content is of the highest quality because of their association with the BBC brand, while a small programming sales team negotiate deals with broadcasters from across the UK and Ireland, selling programmes from BBC Worldwide's extensive programming catalogue in traditional or digital format.

The UK territory also manages a portfolio of 10 hugely successful television channels through UKTV, a joint venture with Scripps Networks Interactive. This network portfolio, which attracts around 40 million viewers each week, includes channel brands such as Dave, GOLD and Eden, available to viewers across terrestrial, cable and satellite platforms.

Australia & New Zealand (ANZ)

Channels form a core offering in the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) market with BBC First premiering in Australia last year. Bespoke entertainment channel UKTV and BBC-branded channel BBC Knowledge are available in both countries, with CBeebies also available in Australia. The team is also responsible for the distribution and promotion of BBC World News. In Australia our channels are broadcast on the Foxtel subscription TV platform and IPTV platform Fetch TV, and in New Zealand they are broadcast on SKY TV.

The ANZ TV programme sales team negotiate with networks such as the ABC, Seven, Nine, SBS, Prime and TVNZ for BBC Worldwide's catalogue, with an increasing number of deals done with digital platform operators such as Netflix, Stan and Lightbox.  The sales team also seek out co-production funding from these partners and sell formats from the catalogue, such as The Great Australian Bake Off, which has been produced for Australian audiences on Lifestyle FOOD, and Coast Australia which has had two series on Foxtel's HISTORY channel.

The ANZ team works with partners to bring BBC Worldwide DVDs, consumer products and live events - including the Doctor Who Festival and Joe and Caspar Hit the Road - to the local market, as well as offering advertising opportunities for the BBC's world renowned news site.
